أخافَ يُخيف، أخِفْ، إخافةً، فهو مُخيف، والمفعول مُخاف. أخاف فلانًا: جعله يخاف، أفزعه، أرهبه "أخافه الظلامُ/ الأسد/ الثعبان- رأى منظرًا مخيفًا".
