نَبات٢ [جمع]: جج نباتات، مف نبتة: ما أخرجته الأرضُ ونحوها من شجر، وعشبٍ، ونحوه.

١. :كُلُّ مَا تُنْبِتُهُ الأَرْضُ مِنْ عُشْبٍ أَوْ شَجَرٍ. ٢. "عِلْمُ النَّبَاتِ": عِلْمٌ يَبْحَثُ فِي فَصَائِلِ النَّبَاتِ وَخَاصِّيَاتِهِ وَمَنَابِتِهِ. ٣. "نَبَاتُ الأَفْكَارِ": نَشْأَتُهَا، تَرَعْرُعُهَا، تَنَامِيهَا. "لَيْسَ غِذَاءُ الطَّعَامِ بِأَسْرَعَ فِي نَبَاتِ الْجَسَدِ مِنْ غِذَاءِ الأَدَبِ فِي نَبَاتِ العَقْلِ". (ابن المقفع).
