استطاع الأمرَ: ١- قدَر عليه وأمكنه، أطاقه وقوي عليه "استطاع المهندسُ إنجازَ عمله- استطاع التغلبَ على كل الصعوبات- إذا أردت أن تُطاع فَأْمُر بما يُستطاع- {وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلاً}" قدر المستطاع/ بقدر المستطاع/ على قدر المستطاع.
